1. Our Commitment
Skautik is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all of our users.
We believe that the web should be available to everyone, and we are dedicated to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
2. Accessibility Standards
Skautik aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for everyone. While we strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of accessibility.
Current status: Skautik is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. The known gaps are listed under Known Limitations below.
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by Skautik, not on an independent third-party audit. It was last reviewed on 12 August 2026.
3. Accessibility Features
We have taken the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website:
- Keyboard Navigation: All functionality is available using a keyboard. Users can navigate through interactive elements using the Tab key and activate them using Enter or Space.
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Our website is designed to be compatible with popular screen readers. We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and landmarks to provide meaningful structure and context.
- Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background colors to ensure readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.
- Responsive Design: Our website is fully responsive and adapts to different screen sizes and orientations, ensuring accessibility across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Alternative Text: All meaningful images on our website include descriptive alternative text to convey their content and purpose to users who cannot see them.
4. Measures We Take
Specific things the site does, rather than general intent:
- A skip link is the first focusable element on every page, so keyboard users can bypass the navigation rather than tabbing through every menu on each navigation.
- Every page has exactly one main landmark, and the skip link moves focus to it rather than only scrolling.
- Focus is visible on every focusable element, using an outline that appears for keyboard use and not for mouse clicks.
- A reduced-motion preference is honoured: animations, transitions, and smooth scrolling are reduced to a near-instant step.
- Icon-only controls carry a text alternative naming the action they perform.
- Data tables use real table markup with header cells and captions, so they can be navigated by row and column.
5. Known Limitations
While we strive to ensure that our website is fully accessible, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential issues:
- The interactive search map is operable with a mouse or touch but not fully by keyboard. Every property reachable on the map is also reachable from the listings result panel, which is fully keyboard navigable.
- Some composite widgets built on third-party primitives, including the one-time-code field and the carousel, do not yet expose ideal roles to screen readers. They remain operable.
- Listing photographs supplied with a listing may carry limited or no descriptive text, because the original listing did not provide any. Where a room type is known we use it.
- Third-party content and embedded integrations may not conform to the same standard. We strive to work with partners who share our commitment to accessibility.
6. Feedback & Contact
